¡VIVA!

Sunday, May 11, 2003  @ 7:00pm
Illsely Ball Nordstrom Hall at Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle

Guest artists: Pablo Zinger, pianist/ arranger
Jorges Campos, composer/ live electronics

A scintillating assortment of music from Latin American! We explore the flavors and rhythms of the Americas from salsa and mambo to tango and clavé. Hear a fresh take on traditional tunes by Osvaldo Golijov, and Silvestre Reveultas’ colorful, Ocho X Radio. Pianist/ arranger Pablo Zinger brings his expertise to the stage as he did with giants such as Astor Piazzolla and Paquito D’Rivera. Hear Zinger’s extraordinary arrangements capture the hot- blooded passion and moodiness of the tango. Plus, an electric new piece from Ecuadorian Jorge Campos.

This program is presented in conjunction with Seattle Symphony’s Viva La Musica Festival. Tickets available at Benaroya Hall box office (206) 215- 4747.

Join us for a pre- concert lecture 6: 15pm hosted by Seattle Weekly’s Gavin Borchert.
